# Quick start

Use this guide to control your first light in Port OS. You do not need a physical device.

## 1. Sign in

Sign in to your Port OS account at [the sign-in page](/sign-in/), then return to this guide.

## 2. Add a simulator light

Select **Add simulator light** to create a test light in your account. It starts on.

## 3. Turn off the light

Select the power button to turn off your simulator light.

## 4. Congratulations!

You added a simulator device and connected it to your account.
