Use Ring cameras and doorbells with AI
Connect your Ring account to Port OS for supported camera snapshots, live views and device information through your AI assistant.
Check a supported Ring camera or doorbell from an AI conversation. Port OS connects to your Ring account and presents the camera controls and information available for each discovered device.

What you can do
- Request a camera snapshot or open an available live view.
- Read connectivity and battery information when the device provides it.
- Use supported camera controls, such as motion-detection settings or pan and tilt, on models that expose them.
- Discover Ring doorbells, cameras and chimes in the connected account.
Try “Show a snapshot from the front porch camera.” Select the intended camera by name before requesting private images. A chime appearing in the device list does not make it a general-purpose music speaker.
Connect your account
You need a Ring account with access to the intended devices and a working internet connection. The Port OS form asks for the Ring email and password, then the verification code requested by Ring.
- Choose Ring and complete sign-in in the website form. Keep the password and verification code out of chat.
- Open Your Devices and check the available cameras and doorbells.
- Connect your AI and approve only the cameras and controls you want it to use.
The camera guide explains snapshots, recordings and live streams as separate capabilities. Availability depends on your device and Ring account.
Compatibility and troubleshooting
Keep the camera online and check that it works in the Ring app first. A battery-powered camera can expose different controls and availability from a wired model. Features such as pan, tilt or a siren require the corresponding hardware and declared control.
If sign-in expires, follow connection troubleshooting. If a command times out, check the device before repeating it. Connecting a camera to an ordinary chat does not create continuous monitoring or guarantee that a notification will be delivered.
Camera images can contain private household information. Review your AI client's data settings and the Port OS privacy policy. Disconnect the AI client and Ring account separately when you no longer want either connection.
