Facts with sources
The device database collects model numbers, connectivity, capabilities and ecosystem compatibility from manufacturer specifications, certification programs, open device databases and reviewed Port OS evidence. Each record links to its sources and the date they were checked. Product descriptions and customer reviews are not copied into the database.
The catalog also includes software integrations and named product lines. These are labeled separately from hardware models. A product line without a published model number does not receive an invented part number. Firmware versions, certification entries, protocol fingerprints and duplicate source listings do not count as separate catalog items.
Sources are displayed in this order: certification directories, the Matter Distributed Compliance Ledger, manufacturers, open databases, Port OS testing and reviewed reports. Conflicting claims require review. A missing fact stays unknown; it does not mean a device is incompatible.
What works with what
Support, certification and local control are separate facts. A device can work with an ecosystem without appearing in its certification directory. A protocol such as Thread or Wi-Fi does not establish ecosystem compatibility on its own. Apple Home is the ecosystem; Siri is its voice layer.
When verified, a device page lists the features each ecosystem exposes and the required connection path. Port OS compatibility is derived from model-specific evidence and the current plugin catalog. A supported brand alone does not establish support for every model.
Home Assistant integrations and HACS repositories are software listings. A device listed by Zigbee2MQTT or Z-Wave JS can require a compatible controller, server and bridge before Home Assistant can use it. Recognizing a proprietary hub in a protocol database does not establish that it can serve as a Home Assistant controller. Check the recorded connection requirements and source before choosing a device.
Regional variants
Regional availability comes from reviewed manufacturer or regional product evidence. A region filter includes a device only when a recorded variant names that country. No recorded variant means availability is unconfirmed. Check the plug, voltage, radio band, hub and installation requirements before buying.
Retailer links are plain links without affiliate codes. Prices and ratings are not estimated. Amazon listings are not crawled.
Product images
Product photos, when available, identify the manufacturer and link to the original source page. Image rights and source permissions are recorded before importing a photo. Existing device illustrations are used when no permitted product image is available.
For image removal requests, email support@portoperatingsystem.com with the device page, image and your relationship to the rights holder. Removal includes the catalog reference and the stored image.
Corrections and freshness
Email support@portoperatingsystem.com with the device page, the fact to correct and a manufacturer or certification source. Corrections and refresh candidates are reviewed before publication. A source's check date records when it was read. Manufacturer products and services can change after that date.
Source information and license notices identify the retrieved publishers and revisions. The optional relationship data download preserves identifier, compatibility and source links. Shared identifiers or certificates can describe related products without proving they are the same retail model.
