Control Spotify music, playlists and Connect devices with AI
Connect Spotify to Port OS to search music, manage saved playlists and control supported Spotify Connect devices from your AI assistant.
Ask your AI to find music, build a listening queue or pause a supported Spotify Connect player. Port OS connects your Spotify account's library and available playback devices, keeping saved playlists separate from the queue playing now.

What you can do
- Search supported music resources and inspect returned tracks or playlists.
- List, create and edit supported saved playlists.
- Play or pause music, skip tracks and seek on an available Connect player.
- Read the current queue, add tracks or start a supported queue.
- Adjust volume when the selected device exposes volume control.
Try “Find some jazz for dinner” or “Pause Spotify on the kitchen speaker.” The Spotify account, current player and available controls determine what can run.
What you need
You need a Spotify account and your own app in the Spotify developer dashboard. Save that app's client ID and secret in the Port OS website, then authorize the connection. Development-mode account allowlists and Spotify's current quota requirements apply.
Playback also needs a supported, available Spotify Connect device and the account access required by Spotify. A restricted Connect device may appear without remote controls. Linking Spotify does not create a speaker or connect your Sonos account.
Connect and choose a player
- Follow the Spotify guide to create the developer app and set the redirect URI.
- Choose Spotify, save its credentials and approve access on Spotify.
- Check the library and players in Your Devices, then connect your AI.
Read the media guide for queues, playlists and playback targets.
Playback and queue limits
A saved playlist belongs to your library; a live queue belongs to a playback session. Changing one does not necessarily change the other. Spotify can retain manually queued items when a new selection starts and does not guarantee ordering across separate player requests.
If a player is missing, open Spotify on that device and check the connected account. If sign-in is refused, check the developer app's allowlist and current quota mode. Use the setup guide for redirect and credential errors.
For Sonos, choose the connection that owns the current playback session. A Sonos-native session and Spotify Connect session can be different even when both play Spotify tracks.
