Search YouTube with your AI assistant
Connect YouTube to Port OS to search supported videos and music. Pair results with a compatible playback device, such as the Port OS Android TV app.
Find YouTube videos and music from your AI conversation, then choose a connected device that can play the result. Port OS's YouTube integration supplies media search; playback comes from a separate compatible device connection.

What you can do
- Search YouTube videos by a specific phrase.
- Search supported music results through the media-search interface.
- Choose a returned media item for a compatible connected player.
For example, ask “Find a recent video about indoor herb gardens on YouTube.” Tell the assistant where to play it only after selecting a device with suitable media-launch controls.
What you need
You need a Port OS account and a YouTube connection authorized through Google's sign-in flow. To play a result on a TV, connect a supported player separately. The Port OS Android TV app can launch supported YouTube media after its setup and permissions are complete.
Connecting YouTube does not import a television, control every YouTube app or create a speaker. This integration currently maps media search; it does not provide YouTube playlist editing, uploads or channel administration.
Connect search, then playback
- Choose YouTube and approve the requested Google account access.
- Connect your AI and ask for a search with a clear subject or title.
- If you want playback, connect your Android TV or another supported player and name that destination explicitly.
The media playback guide explains the difference between finding media, launching it and verifying playback.
If search or playback fails
A search failure does not mean that a player's connection failed. Check whether YouTube authorization needs renewal, then retry the search when the connection is ready. If setup says authorization is not configured, contact support rather than entering unrelated credentials.
If a result is found but the TV does not play it, check the destination's supported media controls, app permissions and current screen. A profile picker or another app prompt may need attention. A successful launch request does not prove that playback started.
